"The moments of heightened consciousness people experience in sacred spaces is liminal -- normal limits to thought, self-understanding, and behavior are relaxed -- a situation which can lead to new perspectives. But such moments are transient; so too are these images liminal for me. Each photograph has decayed and been transferred to hand aged fresco on wood, echoing the human urge through the centuries to paint our sacred spaces, from cave walls to renaissance churches."
